OUTSTANDING RARE 1987 924 S LE MANS RHD
Superb Originality - Investment Quality
26000 Miles

924S Le Mans
The very rare and elusive Porsche 924S Le Mans special edition was built
to celebrate Porsche’s 12th outright win in the Le Man 24 Hour. A total
of 980 Le Mans models were manufactured between July and September 1987,
200 black and 50 white cars were sold in West Germany, 500 for the US
market but all were black, and 113 black and 117 were for the rest
of the world markets. Only 37 of each colour were sold in the UK.
All the cars had the 14 inch steering wheels, with cloth door panels
colour-coded to match the cloth inserts on the Tombstone sports seats
which are fitted as standard. All cars came with a 160 BHP engine plus
an electric tilt/removable sunroof fitted as standard. The Le Man was
slightly lower than the standard S by 10mm at the front and 15mm at the
rear, with stiffer springs and gas-filled shock absorbers all round. It
was also given sport anti-roll bars with diameters of 21.5mm at the front
but 20mm, rather than 14mm, at the rear. Wheels are telephone dial cast
alloys 6J x 15 at the front and 7J x 15 at the rear.

The Drive
The engine runs beautifully with excellent oil pressure. Gear change is
tight & supple. On the road manners are impeccable with sure grip from
the quality tyres, the whole experience is very tight and solid a clear
indicator of the very low miles and ride which is second to none with
original 15 " rims providing a comfortable experience on a level that
modern sports cars can never replicate. The whole impression is of
a car that still feels box fresh moving as one whole piece with excellent
suspension and a note able muted exhaust, it so civilised its not true.

Condition
Externally the coachwork is gleaming with no problem areas and its tidy
underside too. Every panel looks original other than a repaint to the front
end due to minimal chips I cannot see any other paintwork, its all original
including the factory B posts still in place with manufacturer's labels. Aboard
the cabin time has literally been standing still with no wear indicators to seats
doors cards or any leathers worth comment, a particularly sharp vehicle
internally with original carpets and mats in wonderfully preserved order which
is the general theme throughout, all in full working order that means all switchgear
is working perfectly, everything. The coach line is not complete however I can have
this replaced to identical spec. Under the engine looks exactly as you would expect
to see a low miles 80s Porsche to look, simply fantastic.

Service Information
Very well maintained with a thick folder of bills, there are no outstanding
matters and it drives exactly as Porsche intended it to.

Summary
An example with such fantastic original condition and low mileage is surely
to be coveted and cherished. An almost unrivalled 924 in the current market,
those well read among you will be well aware of the significant advantages
that this model offers, ready to be appreciated stored and maintained in
the manner it has clearly been accustomed. This scarcely available model is
nothing other than a pleasure to be handling and have grown very
fond of gazing and marvelling at the utter originality of it, the classic
clean lines offer a simplicity that is perhaps not yet fully appreciated truth
be told, a car that captivates you very easily and truly deserves a climate
to be kept in. The 924 model is 40 next year, get ahead of the revival with
the rarest model of them all.
