indeed
S2
Coming from an era when Porsche were really trying, these models were
engineered
to a level that no other Porsche mass production model ever had been before
or
arguably has since. The vehicle has perfect balance due to perfect 50/50
weight
distribution, a superb fair weather touring car as it eats roads up with
total composure
and prowess, a remarkable balance of power and drive. The build quality is
second to
none, it was made to stand the test of time - and it has.
This Alpine white 944 S2 was a third car to its' previous keeper and was
being kept in
a heated garage and comes from a very good home where it was certainly not
neglected, an enthusiast and a professional person for whom his cars are a
passion.
There are many bills over the years the most recent of which from respected
Porsche
specialists Motortune, Shotts whom have been caring for the last number of
years.
Needless to say it runs superb with instant power from the throttle feeling
every bit a
young lively engine and with it the all round condition is beyond superb.

It was MoT'd by Porsche specialists Motortune at time of writing just last
week and it
was also serviced at this time ready for sale - such was the perfectionist
nature of the
highly fastidious previous keeper, he wanted to handover as perfect and
uncompromised a car as possible.
It's not hard to see this is a well loved vehicle and is at the top of its'
game. Motortune
don't just hand out clean MoT's with no advisories to a 25year old Porsche
you know,
(mark my words) this is special!
Karroserie
All the paintwork is highly glossy and shiny with no areas of concern around
the sills.
It was stored in a heated premises with a breathable cover over it. Walking
around the
body shows all details present and correct and nothing has been altered from
stock
appearance. All exterior trim is in good order including the rubbers and
seals, stone
guards, decals and badges etc. No sign of any previous incidents with all
the body
shut lines and gaps true round the wings, doors and headlights and no
cracked
lighting lenses. A genuine good straight example folks, there is literally
nothing to not
be pleased with. Hood is in superb order with virtually no marks, snags or
wear, in full
working order. Tonneau cover is present and appears in unused condition.
Ambience
Timewarp style preservation is the theme throughout a cool matt finish cabin
just like it
would have been when new. The cabin is lovely and original with a really
nice set of
seats - note these are the Sport option and offer superb support and they
are also
heated too, a rare and expensive option. The cabin has not suffered damp
decay like
so many S2 convertibles, carpets are fresh and youthful with a nice set of
fitted mats,
as above all leather is in superb shape, dashboard with no cracks. The
steering wheel
is a delight with perfect stitching and no unsightly wear, gearshifter
appears as new,
rare option centre console cup holder tray is a very cool feature that
finishes a very
smart pristine clean unmarked cabin that scores absolute top marks for
presentation.
The hood is electric and in superb working order and the clock is working!
Rollers
Unmarked Design '90 Porsche rims, these are the correct factory items for
the car and
they are immaculate with zero marks. Bright clean silver finish with a deep
shine is a
superb professional job. Silver crested centres appear as new and finished
with
pristine satin black wheel nuts and new valves. This is how they are
supposed to look,
accept no less.
Wrapped with premium Michelin rubber, the correct factory set up for the
car:
Front 205/50/16
Rear 225/45/16
There is zero room for improvement here, all unmarked and all appears as
new.
Engine Bay & Luggage Compartment
Show and shine brigade will be pleased with this clean and unspoiled engine
bay that
exudes a fresh appearance and belies it's age. Bright white shines through
the cables
and hardware, you could make a feature of this no problem with nice new zinc
finished
nuts and bolts and a handful of shiny new jubilee clips, such is the fashion
nowadays.
Some engines you just wouldn't bother, but this is particulary nice under
the bonnet.
Open the rear luggage compartment and find a wonderful pristine unused
carpet all
wonderfully dry and no sign of dampness past or present. Under the carpet
the label
is present, a complete tool kit and a spare rim that has never been used,
all in top
order. Top marks again, front and back.
Reality check
Certainly an appreciating investable Porsche asset, a position that cannot
be
contradicted, this example should make someone very happy indeed, zero
depreciation now. This is a genuinely nice car, you can be assured that
viewing would
not be a wasted journey no matter who far you have to travel - we hear this
all the
time from our customers who have traveled distances only to be disappointed
with
misdescribed cars and unrealistic sellers, that's not the Modern Classic
way.
First man to view this will be the proud new keeper.
All part exchanges will be seriously considered. HPI checked - No color
changes,
no stolen record, never been involved in an accident.
