Long term ownership car, the previous keepers kept this 944 for
20 years and it's been dry stored for the last 10 years. A low
owners car, it has near enough full Porsche service history
apart from the most recent service by a specialist.
The last MoT expired in July 2015 and it has not been on the
road since. As such, it will need recommission before use. It
has a new battery and starts off the key and it runs well enough
once it warms up.
Condition
The body is in great order, nice and even straight shut lines
around the front bumper, nose and wings and the bonnet, wings
and headlights are perfectly alinged. The paint is in good
order, it has a couple of little blisters around the edges if we
are critical.
The cabin is in good dry order with lovely fresh clean carpets
on the floor and in the boot and the Porsche floor mats are like
new. The driving controls are in great order, there is no wear
to the gearknob and the leather steering wheel is in great
condition too.
The pinstripe cloth chairs are a comfortable delight, so much
more comfortable than leather, the driver seat has a little wear
to the beading on the boltser and the passenger seat has a split
in the backrest cushion.
There's some sun damage to the top edge of the rear seat squab
and some plastic push in tacks are missing from the sidewalls of
the rear carpets that line the sides of the luggage compartment,
these carpet tacks are no longer available from Porsche, though
can be found from a used parts dealer. The LCD clock screen
needs replaced, repair kits are available on eBay. There is a
single switch cover missing from the driver seat. The top of the
dashboard is free from cracks.
A complete 944 in more or less lovely condition in the cabin.
After being dry stored for so long, it has a couple of issues
with door handles that may need specialist attention. The
passenger door will not open from inside or outside the car and
the driver door will only open from the inside. The door locks
appear to work fine. The window switches may need replaced too.
The door mirrors both work in all directions and the sunroof
works too.
The Azev A alloys are in good order, a couple of marks on a
couple of them, so they would benefit from refurbish though
still in good condition and useable if you choose not to. The
tyres are old though the treads are all good.
The previous keeper fitted the 968 style skirts, as far as I can
tell the sills underneath the skirts are solid and I can feel no
rust when I run my hand along them under and behind the skirts.
This car is for sale by live auction, the auction will end at
