3.6 Generation 2 911s
Slightly more than just a power hike, albeit that extra 20bhp is most welcome
with more torque at lower rpm thanks to variocam plus. Slightly better
aerodynamics with alleged 20 % less lift at the front and 40 % at the rear
with the chassis being 20 % stiffer overall. Interior upgrades included the
much needed glove box and twin cup holders, the real improvement is the
gt3 thicker sports 3 spoke steering wheel. The suspension received a tweak also
with reinforced strut towers, revised springs and shocks, and bushes and sway
bars, all adding up to a quicker sharper car on the move. The engine oiling was
also upgraded to supply more oil under hard work. Drive a 3.4 and 3.6 back
to back and it has noticeable more mid range, and the car feels squatter on the
road

The Carrera 4
This is the rarer and desirable 4 wheel drive car with tiptronic gearbox and a
classic colour scheme to be found in superb used condition. In 4 wheel guise
the vehicle is utterly planted and when the weather turns foul it soaks it up.
As a drivers car I personally prefer the 4 over the 2 in that the slight extra
weight lends a more balanced feel to the front end which is likely to wander
at higher speeds.
