1985 Audi Quattro B2 Coupe Incredible Original Survivor Last Owner 33 Yrs Complete & Ready To Use 100 + HD Images/Video C25 BSL What a delight we have here, if you properly understand the evolution of the usable performance car over the last 40 years, then you will appreciate this as being near the top in terms of influence and accessibility. This is the blueprint of the fast Audi full stop, and its also becoming exceedingly scarce to find in in n/a format, never mind one with a story and pedigree of this stature. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrDc0JKaoA0 First registered and pre delivery inspected by Cameron’s Audi in Dunkeld Rd in Perth on 01.08.1985. Showing 4 previous keepers and as of today 179? miles the car has resided in the locality of Perth all its days. The most recent owner’s tenure (Mr H) commenced 24.08.1990 at approx. 98000 miles. He used the car consistently between 1990 and 2005, pouring on another 81000 miles. In 2005 a sorn was declared as by this stage Mr H had acquired other Audis, including an RS model and decided to retire it in the garage indefinitely. And there it stayed with engine being turned over and sensible storage tactics employed. I have all the mots carried out from the first one through to sorn around 16 in total. Recently it was woken up. In the last few months money and time has been invested (full details below) to bring the Quattro back to life, having been a loved car stored properly in a warm dry environment away from the elements the cosmetics are superb, so no body work was required. All panels are in excellent condition, as is all the trim work glass and lights. She is 38 years old now, but retired at 25, if that makes sense. The original book pack is present with owner’s manual and service booklet detailing 6 Cameron’s Audi dealer services early on, plus various other historical documentation and associated supplementary booklets. Tools? Keys? Recommission To make ready for the road again it needed an overhaul of the fluids and belts to begin with, and then a good inspection to allow a road test. Work has included ; - Timing belt, water pump, new tensioner, new alternator and pas belt. - Oil and filter changed, coolant and brake fluid changed. - New radiator, new thermostat, new radiator to header tank pipe. - New battery. - 4 new Toyo Proxes CF2 tyres. - 2 new wheel bearings. - New rear exhaust section and gaskets. - New handbrake cable. - New MOT (mot/tax exempt 2025). - Fresh alloy wheel refurbishment. - New rear boot struts. I have had an auto electrician sort out some niggles with lights, heaters, windows and wipers so the car is fully operational again both for it to pass the MOT and so it can be used properly and enjoyed. I note that the suspension has been overhauled and re- bushed at some stage and as such rides as it should. The underside is extremely solid, its a delight to drive park and own, the admiration it receives is other worldly. The B2 These non turbo cars are virtually non-existent now to source, a glance at the market revels that Turbo models are now 35-50k for a decent one, and 20-25k buys you a basket case, and there are plenty to choose from. The CQ is therefore an endangered species in the UK, looking into Europe does not turn up many unspoiled examples, just a lot of high prices. This is a gorgeous period correct 85 MY example of the evocative eighty’s coupe well presented in White with a clean Black cloth interior. The 2.2-litre 5-cylinder develops a useful 136 bhp with fuel injection and with four-wheel drive is sharp and quick, the engine feels alive. It does not sound much by todays standard however this car really fly’s, the delivery of the power keeps you pressing on. There is a compliance and comfort to the suspension and ride, no matter the surface, and more importantly a connection to the road that you can tangibly feel, a reminder to when cars felt soulful. There’s a stiff spot in the accelerator pedal’s travel that tells you when you’ve begun to open the secondary throttle butterfly — and that’s when the five-pot music starts. Upon hearing its gnarly haunting exhaust note, you are helplessly transported to an 80s rally stage where a Group B Audi Quattro might pass a throng of frenzied spectators, the five cylinder being one of the most vocal n/a engines of its time. The Quattro Turbos little brother with the same 5-cylinder soundtrack. Investment - Time has stood still for this Audi Becoming a unicorn, all original, never been meddled with at all having been owned by the one Audi enthusiast since it was 5 years old. These vehicles have begun to reach iconic status and are contemporary classics already. The many detailed images should leave no doubt as to what we have here, possibly something that may never come up again. At time of writing, I can find only one other in Red that needs restored with holes everywhere and not running correctly, so its foot of the mountain stuff with compromised metal to start with. Its one of those cars that just oozes old school appeal and looks just as good sitting still in the garage, it’s an utter pleasure to own, in a class of its own. £19,995 Let us sell your car We are always looking for classic cars in all states of repair.
