The best of what is left of the E39 cars are slow burbling

and truly excellent prestige overengineered vehicles. Setting
this car widely
apart from other E39s is the fact it’s not a flashy model that’s
been passed
about half a dozen times and painted as regular as a council
corridor. To
the contrary, a tasteful SE model with the silky smooth
6-cylinder diesel engine,
widely regarded as the best 6-cylinder engine diesel ever made
by the manufacturer
mated with the silky auto gearbox.
This 22-year-old BMW is among the cleanest E39s I have ever
owned, the originality
is captivating, pure and simple, as soon as I walked round it I
had to own it,
and, its has a full dealer history.
History
Pre delivery inspected and first registered by Stephen James BMW
in Middlesex
on 31.03.2003 to a Mr Roddy, he has owned the car ever since,
passing it over to his
daughter when he cound no longer drive.
A very low 54,000 miles over the course of 22 years, this has
been a garaged car
and his parting comment was " its virtually never been out in
the rain as if it were
raining i never took it out". He was devoted to his BMW, it
presents dare I say still
"as new " The car is virtually perfect to the last detail.
Condition - So Good, very difficult to illustrate with pictures.
Cosmetically as the pictures bear testament to it is in
excellent glossy order given
its 20 + years, the paint is superb with a wet look finish.
Details I have tried to
convey in the image gallery, its fine details such as unmarked
seatbelts and
bolsters, immaculate engine bay, boot, carpets and switchgear.
The car drives
sublime, it has a fine unused feel and an almost tangible depth
to the engineering
that is lost today. A study of the underside reveals a dry
corrosion free car that
is excellent. One that very much has to be seen and driven to be
fully appreciated.
This car has been maintained with a passion and carefully used
cleaned and stored.
All bushes and bearings feel as tight as the day it was new.
The cabin remains 100 % box fresh with very clean leathers which
should suit even the
fussiest of tastes, the driver’s seat is virtial unworn as
pictured, the rear and boot
area barely used, and the foot wells and rears of the seats and
the mats are all clean
and unspoiled. Everything in full working order. A car can cover
a mile in different
ways. Some cars can be cleaned and cleaned over the course of a
few days and will
still only manage to look a percentage of this, the difference
here is this one has
never got dirty.
Servicing & Other Information - All BMW Dealer
12 dealer stamps in the book, the MOT was renewed in January
with a clean test and no
advise. All tyres are in good order with deep trred and are
matching Avons. The battery
has been replaced recently. There are no known faults.
Wheels & Tyres / Brakes
Proper genuine 16 "rims, not cheap heavy poorly balanced
imitations that compromise
the ride. The wheels are in perfect condition, the spare 5th
alloy has never been on
with a good tyre.
