Driving the 3.2 S you soon realise that still nothing comes close. The best Roadster money can buy? Probably. As a package the Boxster S is as close to a precision driving instrument that many of us are likely to get, for a better performance drop top you have to spend an awful lot more money, and this is why the Boxster is so successful, a virtually unrivaled convertible that has sensible running costs and renowned reliability. 986 Final Edition This is the final evolution of the 986 model and as such the best of the model range with the considerable 260 bhp unit that is a sheer delight and razor sharp to drive. The model received a minor facelift in 2003 however it all added up to a far more appealing car. The plastic rear window was replaced by glass with obvious benefits arising. Porsche installed a different exhaust pipe and modified air intake. The often disliked orange "fried egg" front indicators were replaced with clear glass indicators, and the rear light cluster was changed with orange turn signals replaced with clear grey. The side marker lights on the front wings were changed from orange to clear, and the bumpers were also changed slightly for a more defined, chiseled appearance, the interior saw a few tweaks also. Complete OPC History - Peace Of Mind A loved car, that is clear from the first glance. Maintained extremely well and no expense has been spared. The miles are genuine and it has had routine spending on maintenance only at OPC Bristol. Extremely well looked after and is complete and honest. IMS has been done by OPC Bristol (as below, 13.06.08 @ 11,019 miles). The car is still under warranty with a notebale company which is transferable. There are 7 OPC Bristol stamps as follows.. 05/05 7,601 OPC Bristol 06/06 7,807 OPC Bristol 06/08 10,958 OPC Bristol 06/10 14,505 OPC Bristol 06/12 17,336 OPC Bristol 06/14 20,626 OPC Bristol 05/16 22,518 OPC Bristol This car is ready to use - this being the key difference, you can buy them cheap but the reality is that you need to spend an awful lot to get many of them right, and there is zero fun in that! A look at any part of the car inspires total confidence and on the road it starts moves and stops like a new factory Porsche. Mechanically superb and fully tried and tested, with a smooth quiet engine, no areas of concern. The 3.2 S being one of the most vocal units in Porsches range, beyond 4500 rpm it gives a superb howl. Handling is as exemplary as expected from a Porsche that boasts near perfect weight distribution. The depth of engineering is instantly apparent not to mention enormously confidence inspiring. The hood drops electrically in a matter of moments, at 75 mph with the top down and the windows up the cockpit is almost wind free, remarkable. Bodywork Condition all round is immaculate, there are no marks and the appearance exude s low mileage. Paint work to my eyes appears to be all factory original and has a deep waxed shine. Only the odd stone chip to note. It has been living in a Carcoon. Cabin Visually no wear whatsoever in the cabin. The leather retains a new matt look factory finish. Everything works and all appears as new. Probably the nicest example we have seen. Alloys/Tyres Matching Michelin Pilot's all round with lots of life. All 4 alloys are in perfect order with no marks.
