M778 SKP
A very rare low mileage C36 AMG first registered 05.05.1995 by
MB Kent. Showing three former keepers (four in total) being the
property of a Lady for the last ten years and covered a very low
mileage in that time being stored properly. The owner prior to
this owned it for sixteen years since the car was three years
old and it appears to have lived in the Hertfordshire
most of its time.
All handbooks are complete within the owner’s wallet with the
service book and a raft of mot history.
When it arrived in stock all fluids were fresh and clean and all
tyres recently replaced with matching Goodyear Eagle rubber. The
alloys are also unmarked. The paint is very presentable and
looks sharp and well for a thirty-year-old classic. Mechanically
in good health with a box fresh feel to the cabin and tight road
manners that low mileage cars possess. The current MOT is vaild
until 09/24.
The Legend
Most notably used as the safety car during the 1996 F1 season.
This vehicle cost more than a small house when new. The C36, a
car replaced in February 1998 by the C43. Both offered all the
traditional Mercedes-Benz values as standard with an added touch
of mature exuberance. Put
simply, chameleon-like qualities, changing from sober suit to
sports jacket with a flick of the foot, its like a pump-action
shotgun, you are treated to an almost uninterrupted torrent of
thrust.
The engine goes from quiet and smooth to a ferocious snarl when
summoned, the overriding exhaust note is deep and rich, all
adding up to an entertaining and devastatingly effective long
distance luxury express when the need arises.
The later 43 with the V8 engine may have a slight power gain
though point to point it won’t outshine the 36. The 36 is a
bespoke product, with a hand-built engine, the 280 unit being
bored out to 3.6 capacity and finely tuned. The 43 is none of
these things, with nothing remarkable about the motor used,
employed across many models in the lineup. For this reason, the
allure of the 36 is far more appealing both to drive and own.

Summary
An exhilarating driver, everything an M3 should have been. It
couldn't be in better mechanical condition. A safe, solid
investment with a touch of sporting spice.
