1995 VOLKSWAGEN CORRADO 2.9 VR6 MANUAL
Pampered VW From My Own Stable
Superb Service Record/ Low Keepers
Stunning Aqua Blue
106,000 Genuine Miles
Bona Fide Original

You get what you pay for with a classic car and there is no substitute for
originality and preservation. This example has this in spades. There is
not exactly an exhausting list of these specific models available these
days, however few will present close to this. This car is in show condition
and represents a scare opportunity to invest in the right thing at sensible
money, cheaper cars will only cost you money in restore. Of note, this car
is wholly original specification.

The Corrado VR6
A bona- fide modern classic, a car that drips with character, one that defies the
modern-day four-cylinder turbo onslaught so brilliantly and engages a driver
in all his senses, this is one of the top 10 cars to drive and own under 20k.
The nigh on 3 litre 6 cylinder hemmed into a light sports coupe body is the headline
of course, coupled to possibly the best gear change ever made with long gearing
and sharp road manners, this being only part of the allure of the car. Possessing
a nineties Porsche like quality, the engine has great character with more than
a nod to the Scirocco it replaced.
Styled by Karmann the Corrado was an instant hit with the motoring press, which
had far too short a production window of only three years.
It was also the car that a generation of teenagers and young adults aspired to
own. Today, nearly three decades on, enthusiasm for the Corrado is just as
vibrant, and that seems set to continue.

M549 DSJ
First registered by Ingram Audi in Ayr 09.06.1995, the vehicle was a sales
managers demo being sold to the first owner Nov 95 who owned it
until December 2004. The seconds owner’s tenure lasted from 2004 until 2020.
I purchased and placed into my own collection and have had a few years of
enjoyable ownership and have lavished her with care.
This is matching numbers car as it left the factory and is wholly HPI clear.
Complete with owners wallet, original stereo unit and two factory keys.
A full toolkit, spare wheel. The panels are true with correct chassis labels
and bodywork stickers intact.

The full specification is below, the official colour is Aqua Blue
metallic, often confused with Mystic Blue which is an inferior shade with less
gloss. There are very few of these models in this shade and I know colour
is subjective but for many this sets the tone of this car, alongside the
black leather its a winning safe combo.
This is a very appealing example for many reasons, the condition is really
incredible for a 28-year-old sports coupe, it retains a cool cult road appeal,
this particular Corrado oozes style and retro vibe.

To my knowledge its been garaged since at least 2004 every night, the 2nd keeper
kept it like this and so have I. Evident when you look at the interior, the boot,
the door shuts and the engine bay which is immaculate, a car can age in many ways.
It has a complete MOT history, and this car has been in virtual continuous use
with a good MOT record.
A folder of receipts details recent expenditure, the original owner’s wallet
is present with all the handbooks, The V5 shows 5 previous owners.
Hpi clean in all respects with certificate, in excellent working order and
supremely reliable. For many years the oil has been changed more than required,
it’s been over serviced.

Servicing & Bills
The service book is rammed full of stamps with a massive paper record detailing
thousands in the last few years attending to time sensitive repairs. I
have recently changed the oil and the battery is always left on ctek.
The engine starts from cold with no noises, there are no running faults
that I am aware of. The previous keeper to me was quite handy with the tools and
did the basis serving himself, taking the car to workshop for larger repairs.
A summary of repairs carried out in last 6000 miles is below. A new MOT is
booked this coming week.

- Major service 04/22 105873 miles, incl spark plugs, fuel filter
- New thermostat, coolant changed
- New front discs & pads
- New rear discs & pads
- New exhaust clamps
- New brake caliper
- New cv boots
- New oil cooler
- New handbrake cables
- New fan belt
- New rear brake pipes
- New wheel bearing
- New front track rod ends
- New front rack arms
- New bottom ball joint

Other historical work includes a new alternator, ignition switch replaced plus
a whole host of other bills dating back twenty years.

Condition
Mechanically as good as it gets, its as entertaining and colourful as a
V6 Bussso unit, enough said.
The interior is truly excellent, working non leaking sunroof, spoiler
operates correctly as does the computer system. The interior carpets
are bone dry with a properly working heating system, the engine bay
is immaculate and detailed, and the boot/parcel shelf carpets and sides
are very clean with all items present and correct.
Its covered only 25000 miles in the last fifteen years with the bulk
of the mileage covered during summer months.

The cabin feels box fresh with little to no wear to cloth or plastics,
very clean and very dry, lovely headlining, this will be a hard example
to replicate anywhere.

Alloys/Tyres
Matching Continental sport contact tyres fitted by myself two years ago and
not covered many miles, recent full wheel alignment carried out. The original
16-inch Speedline rims have just been fresh refinished and are as new in & out.

Summary
A genuinely clean highly collectable rare model, have a look about the
various advertising platforms to source another of this standard, classics
are all about the story, this is sure to be a continued appreciating asset.
So as I think I have already stressed, it’s easy to spend 6-7k on one of
these and get a tired example that’s really needs restored, how much is
a step-in pucker example worth to in the long run especially since they are
appreciating anyway....
