The MX-5 Roadster
In 1989, the Japanese motor industry came of age, and Mazda built
a traditional British sports car in the shape of the MX-5. It looked
like a Lotus, sounded like a Triumph, and went like an MGB. Except
there was one important difference. It all worked and was reliable,
in short, the MX-5 was the perfect roadster for those who wanted
the traditional British sports car experience without the associated
worries of unreliability and oil leaks. With a powerful twin-cam engine
that’s more exciting than its 1.8 litres sound, the MX-5 offers sufficient
performance, though not enough to trouble the fine handling and grip.
Values of original rot free Mk1 cars are rising monthly as the numbers
are now dwindling, as such examples such as this will become a thing
of the past in this price bracket.

Eunos - Jap Import
The Eunos was a better model than the Uk car spec wise, including full
electric pack as detailed below, plus power steering. This limited edition
model was imported in 2001 and done only summer mileage as a third car
so the underside is highly preserved, and its not all caked in under seal,
its original transparent and solid. This car also has air conditioning,
not that its really needed.

J Limited II Edition
1 of 800 Produced, a very catchy looking model. Rather a high specification
with added Torsen limited slip diff, exclusive paint scheme and Black
windscreen surround.

The MK1 The Purest & Finest
All too often demand for new models compromises the purity of a design,
and the mark 1 cars are the best driving and best handling of them all,
the steering is sweet, and the gear change is as precise as a bolt.
Few cars are as entertaining or life-affirming as this little rear-drive
roadster. There is a lightness to touch and maneuverability to the handling
that is totally unique to this model. The Mk1 MX-5 is the original and
genuine roadster thrill, and mated to the highly reliable excellent 4
speed automatic gearbox it proves both excellent in handling twisty bends
and traffic conditions, for me the auto makes the car, it adds to the
simplicity and the Summer touring appeal. The earlier cars are for me
where the appeal lies, and, at this age also qualify nicely for very
cheap classic car insurance.

Condition
The car has ben enthusiast owned by an older gentleman who garaged it.
Its 100 % mechanically with no faults and it starts first time
every time with a strong battery, gearbox, brakes, suspension, exhaust
and drive very strongly with no issues, all switchgear works perfect, and
a really good heater which I always feel important for a convertible.
The engine is free revving and raspy and eager just as it should be.
Its also dry underside. The engine bay is highly detailed. All interior
leather, plastics and carpets are A1. Cleary very highly maintained and
stored, the paint work is deep and glossy with perfect panels that line
up as they should and no accident damage. The car presents like a vehicle
that is a matter of a few years old. The alloys have recently been blasted
and powder coated. Some other relevant recent work is listed below.
