A very special slice of exotic modern motoring history, this
vehicle is one of
maybe a handful of genuine operational 16V Turbo models, and as
of today one of only five LS Turbo models being registered
legally to use on UK roads. Of those remaining anywhere they
will be hard pressed to compare in terms of originality &
preservation, please study the many images to understand how
remarkable it is, and as such the responsibility to maintain its
health moving forward.
K5 HME
First registered 29.09.1992 by Zagato Lancia London and still
wearing its original dealer decal plates. All panels are
original, as are all lenses and the distinctive blue tinted
glass, dealer carpet mats, everything right down to the factory
stereo.
All owner’s manuals are intact within the wallet, inclusive of
the service booklet detailing nine dealer service stamps. Two
keys with key tags, all the original tools & jack etc in the
correct storage bag with the spare wheel, supplementary sales
brochures, an impressive bound workshop manual, and everything
is bone dry box fresh
and unspoiled.
The V5 shows six previous owners with the most recent keepers
tenure spanning ten years, a lifelong Lancia enthusiast from
Edinburgh he has maintained and stored with great sympathy and
passion. Mechanically it’s been looked after by a respected
classic car enthusiast receiving regular servicing and proactive
care being tested every year with an excellent MOT footprint.
The current test is valid until Nov 2026 with no advise.
Recent work has included rebuilding of the bottom end, a new
cambelt, water pump, thermostat and oil pump plus all other
associated belts. As such it runs superbly with all systems
performing as they should with no issues.
The Series 3 Turbo 16 Valve
This is a series three car built just one year prior to Lancia
pulling out of the UK. Production of the Thema began in 1984, to
save costs the original idea was to build the car on the same
basic platform alongside SAAB Alfa & Fiat, however four quite
different cars emerged. The Thema was special in the sense that
its engine was being developed on the same timeline as the Delta
Integrale, so each time the Integrale engine was developed the
Thema also became more powerful albeit with the challenge to
distribute the power through two wheels not four.
By the time the series 3 turbo car appeared the power ouptut was
up to 205 bhp with sixty in less than seven seconds, and was in
fact only slightly slower than the flagship (though niche) lhd
8.32 Ferrari engined version.
The LS version was the highest spec, with full electrics, a
sunroof, rear blinds, metallic paint and a stunning quality
Alcantara interior.
Condition
Lancia’s are prone to rusting, they had learned many lessons by
this point from the Beta & other models and extensively
rustproofed these cars in the factory, this example has done
over 96000 miles and is no victim of it.
All four tyres are matching Goodyears, all alloys in fine
condition. Cosmetically in superb order with no rust and a very
clean rust-free underside.
The interior is in sublime order, the seats roof lining and all
trim present as new, the engine bay and boot are also in first
class condition, the devil is in the detail, beautifully
finished trim with a personalised and bespoke ambience to the
car, it feels plush and its comfortably sprung compared to
modern day chariots. All electrics work well despite the
Italians rep for not doing so.

Summary
A car that has real flair, and you can drive it today without
looking like a
mafiosi hood. It feels like an interior finished by Gucci or
Versace, penned by
Giorgetto Guigaro the looks take on a whole dynamic of their
own. The character
of the engine, the sounds it makes, and the shape of the power
delivery are a
genuinely unique driving & ownership experience. Glancing back
now at its design
style, it looks every inch an icon from a golden age of
motoring.
