The RS4 B7
The RS4 Avant is a beautifully executed car, its always feel
alert and
agile, instantly responsive and supremely powerful, in estate
form
very desirable indeed, a real taskmaster. Key to the appeal is
the
time proven engine, whether pottering at 2000 rpm or right up
top
at 8200 rpm, just fantastic everywhere, this coupled with the
driver
input required from the 6-speed manual and it’s a vehicle that
is very
difficult to trump in any area. This is among the last of the
proper
analogue V8 manual cars ever made, the likes of which we will
never see
again, the political climate dictates that vehicles such as
these belong
to an era that was the Golden age for high performance driver’s
cars.

First registered and pre delivery inspected by Highland Audi

in very rare Imola Yellow with only seven rumoured to have been
registered
in Avant RHD format with speculation that only six remain, I
will allow
the aficionados to verify. A very high factory spec inclusive of
the
essential wingbacks, the desirable carbon option, non-sunroof,
front &
rear heated seats, privacy glass and rear blinds.
It has been extremely well serviced and sits on quality Goodyear
tyres
and genuine brake components which in my experience is always
the first
thing to get skimped on.
The MOT has recently been renewed, the leather book wallet is
present
alongside all the relevant original handbooks, plus two working
remote
keys and all relevant tools.
High Specification
Very highly appointed, the abundance of specification is not all
standard on the RS4 model. The Tubi exhaust is an expensive
alternative
to the Miltek though has a real character about it, a real
treat, its
non resonated so its not brash, just deep.

A genuinely outstanding pampered car that looks magnificent,
smooth,
supercar rapid when prodded, stylish and luxurious all set to a
glorious
V8 soundtrack. Over the next few years, as the number of
original
RS4s on the road continues to dwindle, values will start to rise
- so
buying a unicorn example now could prove a good long-term
investment. And
when the mood takes you, and those roads are quiet, Audi's
genre-defining
RS4 Avant delivers a blast from the past that still has most
contemporary
rivals outclassed.
