First registered and pre delivery inspected by Lindbrook Audi
this S3 presents
as virtual new and has to be seen to be believed and has been
extremely well
cared for. A massive history file accompanies, detailing the
whole cars care
inclusive of all expenditure and the original Audi order form
complete with
glossy marketing brochures.
In truly wonderful condition throughout with many recent jobs
ensuring this S3
is as good to use as it rolled out the factory. The service book
is fully stamped,
there are two remote folding keys, the leather binder with all
user manuals.
Four previous owners. Last serviced at 96k, May 25 MOT (no
advisories). The
service book details 13 services recorded though much more has
been done.
Aftermarket Specification
The car has spent the majority of it life as a standard car. The
owner prior to myself
spent an utter fortune tweaking it in a tasteful way without
going over the top.
Any original parts changed have been boxed. Under the hood there
are a few upgrades
to the caps and other wee pieces that just set it off nicely.
Modern Classic Rising
The genre defining series 1 S3. Tough and capable, the S3 is one
of the more reliable
used buys amongst the hot hatch elite. The doors close with a
thunk, everything is
damped and chunky. There are no squeaks and rattles. The car
feels as if it was milled
from a solid billet of some hideously expensively heavy
substance. Specified in dark
colours, the interior has a certain Bauhaus austerity about it.
With permanent four-wheel
drive, the S3 imperiously shrugs aside adverse conditions. With
only the most insignificant
chirrup of wheelspin, the little Audi will launch itself from
slushy T-junctions, power
being distributed to each of the wheels by an electronically
controlled multi-plate clutch.
No drama, no torque steer, just the pervading exhaust roar
building as the speed builds.
In short few can match the balance, the build quality and the
all-round feel-good factor
of the Audi S3, and now they are coming of age. Rumour has it
the 210 engine is stronger
and more durable than the 225? |
