Celebration
This must surely be in the top ten of quintessential British
open top sports cars?
the kind that you see driving down country lanes on the way to a
country fete driven by a man in driving gloves and a flat cap
emanating pure British cool. On a summer's evening, with the
straight-six on song and the long hood with the leaper pointing
the way to adventure the Big Cat does have a presence that many
people respond to, which is quite evident when out and about. It
brings smiles and comments from many onlookers, and invites
conversation. So, I say yes, this is one of the most evocative
British
classics around and always will be.
N939 NUA
This lovely, and very original 1995 Jaguar XJS Celebration
Convertible was supplied new by Appleyard Jaguar in Bradford on
01.08.1995 and has only covered 72878 miles.
There are four previous owners though significantly was the
property of a Dr in Tring for some seventeen years. The current
test expires next month so a fresh MOT will be completed. This
is an hpi clean vehicle in all respects.
Unique Specification
Finished in Turquoise with Blue roof and Cream leather interior.
The cream leather was a factory option and may be a one of one
combination. Further complimented with a matching tonneau and a
rare wind deflector, both of which fit and operate with
remarkable ease. The Gold leaper is of course an aftermarket
fit.
The end of production celebration models feature a revised spec
with embossed seats, and piped interior. The AJ16 engine
replaced the AJ6 and feels more lively on the throttle and
sharper, with the brakes receiving a tweak, plus a more modern
instrument pack. This car has cruise and air con.
Service History
An impressive service history, the service book has nine service
stamps whichconfirms that it has been well maintained with the
last service carried out 11 months ago (though only four hundred
miles ago) by Jaguar Ascot. A
considerable paper history details the whole service life,
containing the
original bill of sale, invoices, old registration documents and
MOT certificates.
Within the last few thousand miles its had new front shock
absorbers, new fan & alternator & pas belt, amd the air con
regassed. All carried out by a respected Jaguar specialist.
Condition
Many hd images will hopefully illustrate that this is a
specially preserved
example. I don’t recall seeing another one even come close to
this overall
cosseted cherished Jag. The roof is in excellent order, as are
all leathers
and wood, the engine bay is a marvel all of its own, the chrome
is wonderful.
The alloys retain the diamond cut finish. |
